Your word says, "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Your word also says, "Live by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7). And often giving thanks in all circumstances requires a tremendous amount of faith as many situations do not appear worthy of gratefulness or thanksgiving. As Sarah Young points out in Jesus Calling, giving thanks in all circumstances acknowledges Your sovereignty. It says, though I don't necessarily see or understand how this is good or beneficial for me or anyone else, in faith, and not based on my limited sight, I will trust in Your goodness and sovereignty and thank You anyway. Help me live my life in such a way, O LORD, testifying to my belief in Your sovereignty by being grateful to You in everything. Help me "Fix [my] eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18).
